An open proposal

The technical ideas in this magazine are published open, on purpose. That applies to everything in Star Bound, now and going forward. We are not filing on them and we are not claiming them. If something here is useful to you, take it. If you can build it better than we have described it — and on most of these you probably can — then build it better, and tell us how, because that is the whole point of putting it in print.

We would rather see a thing get built than own it. Nothing in space is going to be done by one person or one outfit anyway, and the sooner the good ideas are loose and getting improved on, the sooner any of it happens.

Corrections are as welcome as improvements. Where we have the physics wrong we would like to know, and we will print it.
